Old Illustration

An old illustration I created in Photoshop. It was also my very first attempt at using Photoshop ha.
I quite liked it so I used in within my 3D exploration of the integration of shadow puppetry, snippets of which can be seen at the end of my latest showreel.

Bored of the unemployed life

I've become bored of the unemployed life. So I have got in contact with some relatives and old contacts in the hope they can get me some work experience, as well as sending out emails to companies I think look the bomb. In the meantime... I'm turning to origami! Wish me luck!

Peace.

New Animation/Lighting/Compositing Showreel '12

This is my updated showreel for 2012. I still have a few more animations I am working on at the moment in my free time, that I would like to add when they are done. But in the meantime, enjoy. And please leave feedback, it is always welcome!

Peace.

Doodle doodle

I have been quite bored lately but fortunately, and I recently got a new iMac (YIPPEE!) and a very swanky new photoshop. So I had a little play around and created this illustration. I based it around the composition of 1940's/1950's Hollywood actress portraits, after falling in love with Francesco Carrozzini's "Screen Tests" for the New York Times - especially Natalie Portman's test, as I think it's really, really simple yet beautiful and kind of harrowing all at the same time ha. While searching for a quirky aesthetic and style for this idea, I have a Catcher in the Rye poster in my room which served as a great source of stylistic inspiration! Take a look and tell me what you think. I may develop on this idea further with a Film Noir theme instead though. Incidentally, you should all read Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, if you have not already. Fantastic novel.

Peace.

Fern's Business Card

I have also had the pleasure of designing my best friend's new business card. Illustration is also drawn by yours truly. She is an aspiring freelance editor, and believe me, she really is fantastic at what she does.

Here is her website if you are interested in having a peek at her films -

Rachel's Birthday

As I have very little money at the moment and seem to have limitless amounts of paper and time, I decided to make something for Rachel's birthday. Why hello there 22 little baby origami pikachus in a little origami pokeball! If this animation malarky does not kick into gear soon, I think I've found a new calling.

Peace.
